Introducing PamBot - Connecting Internet with Skype Chat
PamBot is a Skype Extra that allows you to query internet sources directly from Skype chat. Currently we have available Wikipedia, BBC News and a random quote site.
We plan to add more sources over time. In addition the 1.0 release does not have a internet channel directory function yet but we will add this shortly.
In addition PamBot is able to reply to incoming Skype chats while you are away. The engine is based on ALICE (www.alicebot.org). This is a full Artificial Intelligence engine used in several applications.
Give PamBot a try and let us know what you think in the Feedback section of the FAQ.
Added features in backend
Added new features on the server side (when you chat with Skype user pam_bot):
- weather forecast provided by www.weather.com: "weather in city" will show you weather from city
- skype network information:
- ask for "skype status" to get the current Skype network status
- ask for "skype version" to see the latest version of Skype for Windows available
You can also ask for these infos in a natural way like "please show me the skype status" or "how is the weather in hamburg, germany?". PamBot will try to figure out what you want to know and give you the desired information.
